The Asustor Lockerstor 12R Pro Gen2 enterprise NAS server is used for centralised data storage, virtualisation and backup in a business environment. This 88mm high rackmount network storage has twelve bays for hard drives or SSDs and one slot for fast M.2 NVMe drives. The system is powered by an eight-core AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 7745 processor, complemented by RAM with automatic error correction for stable operation of business applications. The device supports the connection of expansion units via SAS controllers to increase capacity.

Computing performance with an AMD Ryzen processor
At the heart of the device is an AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 7745 processor with eight cores and sixteen threads, capable of boosting up to 5.3GHz. This hardware effortlessly handles virtualisation tasks and demanding container applications in Docker using the Portainer interface. The high computing performance contributes to the fast response of the ADM operating system, even with a large number of users accessing it simultaneously on the corporate network, which simplifies daily work with files.
Network connection
Network connectivity is provided by two 10GbE ports and two gigabit Ethernet ports with support for Wake on LAN and Link Aggregation. This setup enables high data throughput with read speeds of up to 2308MB/s and write speeds of 1602MB/s in a RAID 5 configuration. The network interface provides a reliable backup connection in case of a line failure and supports protocols such as SMB, NFS or iSCSI for integration into corporate infrastructure.
Expansion options via PCIe Gen5
The motherboard includes one PCIe 5.0 ×8 slot and one PCIe 5.0 ×4 slot for installing add-on cards. These positions let you add high-speed 10, 25, 40 or even 50GbE network cards, as well as external SAS controllers for connecting Xpanstor 12R expansion units. A dedicated PCIe 5.0 ×4 M.2 NVMe slot is used for installing fast SSDs that act as a cache.
Advanced protection
In addition to standard disk arrays, this data storage also supports RAID 50 and RAID 60 configurations. These levels offer an optimal balance between write speed, total capacity and a high degree of data security against the simultaneous failure of multiple hard drives. RAID 50 requires at least six drives and protects against the failure of one drive in each array, while RAID 60 requires at least eight drives and withstands the failure of two drives in an array.
Continuous operation with redundant power
The device is equipped with 16GB of ECC DDR5-4800 RAM, with the total capacity expandable up to 192GB using four memory slots supporting 48GB modules. Two redundant 80 PLUS Platinum certified power supplies ensure reliable power. The power supplies operate with a conversion efficiency of up to 92%, which reduces electricity consumption and ensures continuous operation of the storage even if one of the power modules fails.
