Aqua Aurea Diona Max FDN2

Aqua Aurea Diona Max FDN2
The Aqua Aurea Diona Max FDN2 filter jug with its glass container is the improved successor to the original Diona (winner of dTest in the jug filter category). It boasts triple the volume and filter material capacity compared to standard filter jugs (4-stage filtration). It reduces chlorine, chlorine compounds, pesticides, heavy metals, radon, hormones, antibiotics, etc., and removes nitrates and nitrites. It does not affect the mineral composition of the water. The jug is suitable for bacteriologically safe water with a nitrate content below 100mg/L NO3-, a nitrite content below 0.5mg/L NO2-, a COD(Mn) value below 3mg/L, an arsenic concentration of less than 10µg/L, a conductivity below 100mS/m, and a pH of 6–8. The treated water is also suitable for infants from 6 months of age.
Key features of the Aqua Aurea Diona Max FDN2 filter jug
- Filter media life of 1 year after initial wetting
- Suitable for infants from 6 months
- Does not affect the mineral composition of water
- No part of the filter contains bisphenol A (the funnel and lid are made from semi-natural Tritan)
- Bacteriostatically protected (for bacteriologically safe water, no bacteria grow in the filter)
- Flow rate of 0.33–0.5L/min (i.e. one litre of water is filtered in 2–3 min, depending on the filter cartridge type)
- Shelf life of 0.5 years from purchase in original packaging (at a temperature of 5–25°C)
- The filter cartridge contains granulated activated carbon and an ion exchange resin for nitrate removal
- Reduces chlorine, chlorine compounds, pesticides, heavy metals, radon, hormones, antibiotics, etc., and removes nitrates and nitrites
How to set up the filter
Remove all packaging from the filter parts. Wash the glass jug with the plastic funnel and lid in warm water, and rinse the filter cartridge in cold water. Insert the filter cartridge with its seal into the funnel and press lightly to prevent unfiltered water from leaking into the filtered water, then place the funnel with the filter cartridge onto the jug. Pour in about 1 litre of water and let it filter through. Do not use the first 1 litre of water as it may be blackened by abrasion from the activated carbon. Finally, pour another litre of water into the funnel and let it filter through again. The water is now ready for drinking and further use and can be stored in the fridge.
How to care for the filter jug
The jug is dishwasher safe. The plastic funnel and lid are not dishwasher safe; they are made of a semi-natural material that should be washed with warm water. Rinse the filter cartridge with cold water and wash the seal with cold water after about 5 months of use. Do not use abrasive cleaning products, protect it from direct sunlight, and prevent the filter cartridge from freezing at temperatures between 5 and 25°C. Replace the filter cartridge either after one year of use or when nitrates in the filtered water start to rise (you can check this with the included nitrate test strips).
