The Alpinestars SMX Waterproof textile jacket from the Honda collection is a short sports jacket designed for motorcycle riding. Its construction combines an outer softshell layer with stretch panels that conform to your body and give you freedom of movement. Thanks to its integrated waterproof climate membrane and removable thermal liner, the jacket is suitable for various weather conditions. Safety is ensured by external and internal protectors, and the jacket is fully compatible with Tech-Air airbag systems.

Protection and compatibility with Tech-Air systems

The Alpinestars SMX jacket places a strong emphasis on rider safety. External shoulder protection is provided by DFS Lite protectors. Inside, you'll find removable Nucleon Flex Plus Level 1 joint protectors. To enhance protection, you can upgrade the jacket with Nucleon Level 1 or 2 back protectors and Nucleon Level 1 chest protectors, for which it has dedicated pockets. A key feature is its compatibility with Alpinestars Tech-Air 5 and Tech-Air 3 airbag vests, which significantly increases the level of protection in a crash.

Construction for freedom of movement

The core of the jacket is an outer softshell layer supplemented with polyester. The stretch construction and panels allow the jacket to adapt to your body's movements and don't restrict you during sporty rides. The cut is optimised with an extended back, which provides better coverage in the riding position. The elbow area features a PU print. Comfort is further enhanced by a low-profile sports collar with a soft microfibre inner side.

Adaptable for all-season riding

The jacket is designed for use in a variety of conditions. The integrated climate membrane, together with the DWR waterproof surface finish, protects you from the rain. In colder weather, you'll appreciate the removable thermal liner, which has a weight of 100g/m² in the chest and back area and 80g/m² on the sleeves. You can easily adjust the waist with a drawstring and tighten the sleeve cuffs with Velcro. Two outer pockets and two inner pouches are available for storing personal items.
