Acer P5550

The Acer P5550 is a powerful DLP projector designed for professional presentations. With a native resolution of 1920×1080 Full HD and a 16:9 aspect ratio, it displays sharp and detailed content. Its key feature is a high brightness of 5200 ANSI lumens, which provides a clear and legible image even without needing to completely darken the room. This makes the office projector suitable for lecture halls, large meeting rooms, or classrooms. The high contrast ratio of 15000:1 ensures deep blacks and well-defined details in the projected image.

Detailed image and true-to-life colours

The DLP chip in the projector works with a native resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, which corresponds to the Full HD standard at a 16:9 aspect ratio. The size of the projected image is flexibly adjustable over a wide range from 78.7cm (31") to 762cm (300"). Acer colourSafe II technology ensures colour stability, maintaining consistent and natural colours throughout the lamp's life. The resulting image is supported by a 15000:1 contrast ratio, which contributes to better text legibility and detail in dark scenes.

Operating characteristics

At the heart of the projector is a 240W Philips lamp, which offers a brightness of 5200 ANSI lumens in standard mode. For more economical operation, you can activate ECO mode, where the brightness drops to 4160 ANSI lumens and the lamp life increases to 36000000 hours. Power consumption ranges from 290W at full power to 210W in the economy setting. The projector also supports continuous 24/7 operation, making it ideal for use at exhibitions or in information kiosks. The cooling noise does not exceed 27dB. The projector is equipped with an integrated 10W speaker.

Flexible installation and image adjustment

The projector easily adapts to different installation conditions. A projection ratio between 1.13 and 1.47 allows you to create an image with a 60" screen size from a distance of just 1.5 metres. The image can be further adjusted using the 1.3× manual zoom and manual focus. For quick and precise image geometry alignment, there is automatic keystone correction, which operates on both the horizontal and vertical axes. For more complex installations, advanced 4-corner correction is also available. The device supports front and rear projection and can be placed on a table or permanently installed on the ceiling.

There are two HDMI 1.4b inputs, a professional HDBaseT interface for long-distance signal transmission over a single cable, and a LAN port (RJ45) for network control. Alternatively, you can use the audio input and a separate output to connect an external audio system. The features also include an RS232 port for control systems and a USB-A port (5V/1.5A) for powering external devices, such as wireless modules for screen mirroring via WiFi.

Native resolution vs. maximum resolution

Native resolution determines the actual number of physical pixels on the projector's imaging chip and defines the real sharpness of the image. Maximum resolution, on the other hand, only indicates the highest signal the projector can receive and convert (downscale) to its native resolution. For a high-quality image, native resolution is always the key factor.
