An LTE-enabled Wi-Fi modem might look like a classic router. However, the biggest difference lies in the LTE support. While a classic modem requires a wired connection, an LTE modem instead uses just mobile, wireless internet connection. It's similar to sharing a hotspot from your mobile phone. A Wi-Fi modem with LTE Support has close resemblance to a classic Wi-Fi router (splits connections), but instead of a cable connection to an operating company, it uses a SIM card inserted into the SIM slot.
The ZyXEL WAH7608 has support for 802,11b (2,4GHz), 802,11g (2,4GHz) and 802,11n standards, and it achieves a maximum speed of 300 Mb/s. The support for the 802.11n standard is very important because it allows for communication with a possible speed up to 600Mb/s, which is the current maximum on a 2.4GHz frequency.
