In bleak, autumnal Prague, a series of incomprehensible, brutal murders has shaken the city. What connects a young boy, a priest from St. Vitus Cathedral, and the murder of a parish priest in Hradec Králové? A young judicial investigator, Boleslav Rybář – nicknamed Borek – finds mysterious connections, but only truly understands the madman's depraved crimes when his friend Hanuš, the master executioner, confides in him. This time, the case hits close to home. How powerful can a guilty conscience be? And can they catch a killer who will stop at nothing?
