TP-Link EAP223, Omada

TP-Link EAP223, Omada
The TP-Link EAP223 with Omada is a dual-band access point operating on the Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) standard. It provides a combined transfer speed of up to 1317Mbps, split into 450Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 867Mbps on the 5GHz band. MU-MIMO, Beamforming and Airtime Fairness technologies optimise network performance. Integration with the Omada SDN platform provides centralised cloud management and simplified deployment with Zero-Touch Provisioning. Seamless Roaming support ensures a smooth transition between individual access points without interrupting the connection.
Key features of the TP-Link EAP223 with Omada WiFi access point
- Dual-band WiFi 5 reaches speeds of up to 1317Mbps
- MU-MIMO and Beamforming technologies increase wireless network performance
- One Gigabit Ethernet port supports both 802.3af PoE and 24V Passive PoE
- The Omada SDN platform enables centralised management via the cloud and a mobile app
- The access point supports Omada Mesh and seamless roaming
- Coverage of up to 115m² serves over 220 concurrently connected devices
- Ceiling or wall mounting makes installation easy
Wi-Fi connectivity and speed
The TP-Link EAP223 access point operates on the Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) standard and uses two frequency bands. On the 2.4GHz band, it offers data transfer speeds of up to 450Mbps, and on the 5GHz band, up to 867Mbps. This results in a total speed of 1317Mbps. It implements MU-MIMO and Beamforming technologies for more efficient use of the wireless band and increased device performance. In addition, the Band Steering function moves dual-band capable devices to the faster 5GHz band.
Coverage and Mesh technology
This access point supports Omada Mesh technology, which serves to wirelessly extend the network and create unified coverage. The Seamless Roaming function (802.11k/v/r) supports a smooth transition for clients between individual access points without connection loss. The access point covers an area of up to 115m² and can handle more than 220 concurrently connected devices. It supports the creation of up to 16 SSIDs (8 for each band).
Network security and management
To protect the wireless network, the device offers support for 802.1X authentication. For secure guest access, you can create a separate network with authentication via a Captive Portal. Other security features include access control, MAC address filtering, client isolation, SSID to VLAN mapping, and rogue access point detection. The TP-Link EAP223 WiFi access point operates in access point mode and fully integrates into the Omada SDN platform. Management is centralised via Omada's cloud, hardware, or software controller. You can configure it from anywhere using the Omada mobile app or the HTTP/HTTPS web interface. Zero-Touch Provisioning simplifies the deployment and configuration of multiple devices in large-scale networks.
Connectivity options
The access point includes one Gigabit Ethernet (RJ-45) port. This interface is used for data connection to the network and, at the same time, for powering the device, as it supports the 802.3af PoE and 24V Passive PoE standards. The flexible power options facilitate installation in places without direct access to a power socket.
