E-flite Turbo Timber Evolution 0.7 m SAFE Select BN

E-flite Turbo Timber Evolution 0.7 m SAFE Select BN
The UMX Turbo Timber Evolution BNF Basic RC model has a reinforced airframe and completely new electronics compared to the previous version. Flying is easier with the optional SAFE Select (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) protection. More powerful 2S and 3S LiPol compatible AC motor and new control unit, 3-blade propeller, LED landing, navigation and flash lights installed. Slots with flaps for short takeoff and landing and STOL capability, large balloon wheels. The controller in the model provides telemetry for compatible Spektrum transmitters - power supply voltage and more. The E-flite UMX Turbo Timber Evolution is a scaled down ultra-micro version of the very popular Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5 m. The Evolution is also an upgraded version of the best-selling UMX Turbo Timber, featuring a reinforced airframe and stronger joints to handle the more powerful new motor and LiPol 3S option. The UMX Turbo Timber Evolution can be equipped with optional floats (sold separately).

Ready to pair, telemetry option
The model is completely ready to fly, has a motor with controller, servos and receiver installed. It features Spektrum's cutting-edge 2.4GHz technology that allows you to pair the model with your Spektrum 6+ channel aerial transmitter, the DSMX/DSM2, so you can go flying in no time out of the box. UMX Turbo Timber Evolution is equipped with a control unit, which contains the Spektrum controller and receiver which provides real-time flight battery voltage telemetry to compatible transmitters, equipped with Spektrum AirWare (including DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/G3 and 8 G2, DX9, NX6, 8 a 10, iX12, iX14, iX20 and others), during the flight.

Exclusive technology and more power
The UMX Turbo Timber Evolution is equipped with exclusive Spektrum AS3X and SAFE Select technologies. The AS3X electronic stabilization works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence and add a locked-in feel that makes it feel like you're flying a much larger aircraft. SAFE Select offers pitch and roll limits along with automatic self-leveling that can be turned on and off during flight by flipping a switch. The model is powered by a new, more powerful 3-blade propeller inverter motor, which has better performance than the previous UMX Turbo Timber version and provides better STOL (Short Take Off and Landing) characteristics. The drive is compatible with LiPol 2S and 3S and offers relaxed flying with a two-cell or aerobatic with a three-cell LiPol.

Versatile applications, STOL (Short Take Off and Landing) features
The balloon wheels ensure take-off and landing even on low grass, absorb uneven ground and do not dig into the terrain thanks to the wide tyres. If you have a suitable body of water within easy reach, you can purchase floats that you swap out for a fixed chassis and you're off to new adventures. The possibility of using additional slots on the leading edges of the wing which are included in the package, as well as flaps which are already installed, contribute significantly to low speed flying. Lightweight construction, high powerplant performance and oversized flaps get the model airborne before you expect it.

Impressive LED lighting and durable construction
Like previous UMX Timber models, the Evolution is equipped with lighting for flying in twilight. Realistic LED landing, navigation and simulated flash lights are factory installed and powered by a flight battery. The airframe of the model with stronger and more precise ball joints is lightweight but durable. And in the unfortunate event that you damage any parts of the airframe and are unable to repair them, there are a number of spare parts available.
AS3X and SAFE Select systems
Timber is equipped with AS3X stabilization system. The AS3X system eliminates the effects of wind or turbulence - the model simply flies like a string. Driving the model is similar to driving a much larger model. At the same time, it maintains the full controllability of the model, so the pilot has a feeling of maximum safety. Another technology is the SAFE Select system. The system is designed for beginners and works so that when the controller levers are in neutral, the model will automatically level off and continue level flight. It is up to the pilot to control the throttle appropriately. This mode is ideal for less experienced pilots or for those who are not confident enough to fly small models, e.g. on landing or takeoff. The model simply lands safely on its own. The name SAFE Select suggests that this is an optional feature. The SAFE system is activated via channel 5 (it is recommended to assign a suitable switch to channel 5 to enable the SAFE function).
Recommended accessories
To put the model into operation, you need to add a Spektrum 6 or more channel transmitter with DSMX/DSM2 support, for example Spektrum DXe, DX6 or higher. A 2S-3S LiPol battery with a capacity of 280-300 mAh and a suitable charger are also required. The model is fitted with a JST-PH connector, so either a banana charging cable or a Celectra compact charger can be used to charge the battery. Spektrum LiPo 11.1 V 300 mAh 30C JST or Spektrum LiPo 7.4 V 300 mAh 30C JST-PH can be used as suitable drive batteries. The model has JST-PH and JST connectors - when using the SPMX3002S30 (JST-PH) battery, it is powered via the balance connector and charged using a Celectra charger or Spektrum IC3 battery conversion cable - 2S JST-PH male.
If you choose the SPMX3003SJ30 battery with JST connector, it connects directly to the model controller and for charging it is advisable to use the Spektrum IC3 battery to JST device conversion cable. If you want to operate the Mikro Turbo Timber on the water surface, you can buy a float kit that includes all the accessories needed for installation. For safe operation, we recommend the use of protective battery packs. Packaging reduces the risk associated with charging and transporting LiPol cells, which, while maintaining small size and light weight, provide high discharge currents and long run times, but are susceptible to mechanical damage.
