Unconventional hero
In The Last Guardian, you don't play your typical kind of a hero, such as a seasoned marine or a brilliant detective would be. You play an ordinary eight-year-old boy with no special abilities, who happens to meet a strange gigantic creature on his journey and the two quickly become inseparable friends.
Toriko - ally and guardian
During your wanderings, you'll be accompanied by Toriko, a mythical creature, half bird and half cat, that resembles a huge gryphon. Despite its appearance, Toriko isn't very smart. So you will often have to stroke him to calm him down, show him the right direction and tell him what to do. In return, your giant friend will help you overcome obstacles and protect you from unexpected dangers.
