The tri-band Synology RT6600ax WiFi router directs network traffic in homes and offices. The manufacturer has integrated a 1.8GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of DDR3 RAM into the internal hardware. Wi-Fi 6 and Transfer Speed
Tri-band wireless transmission uses several frequency bands to help distribute the load of connected devices. 4×4 MIMO and 2×2 MIMO technology, along with support for 160MHz channels, increases the overall network throughput. It also supports the 5.9GHz band for cleaner channels without interference from surrounding networks. The 2.4GHz band offers speeds up to 600Mbps, the first 5GHz band offers speeds up to 4,800Mbps, and the second 5GHz band offers speeds up to 1,200Mbps.
Advanced Network Management with the Synology RT6600ax WiFi Router
The Synology Router Manager operating system provides tools for network segmentation and managing connected devices. Users can create up to 5 separate networks and 15 wireless SSIDs to segregate different types of traffic. The system fully supports VLAN tagging in both mesh and access point configurations. The entire network can be easily expanded with additional access points to cover larger areas.
Security Features and VPN
Network security is ensured by modern encryption standards and advanced access control. The built-in Safe Access system manages user profiles and filters inappropriate content on the internet. The VPN Plus service offers secure remote network access without the need for complex configuration of end devices. It features WPA, WPA2, and the modern WPA3 encryption standard, a firewall with one-way rules for IoT devices, Synology SSL VPN and WebVPN services for remote access, and parental controls with scheduling and quota options.
WiFi Router Connectivity
High-speed Ethernet ports provide the physical connection for devices to the internet and the local network. One of the ports supports speeds of up to 2.5Gbps and can be configured as either WAN or LAN. It also offers a fast USB port for connecting external data storage. The ports include: 1× 2.5GbE WAN/LAN port, 1× 1GbE WAN port, 3× 1GbE LAN ports, and 1× USB 3.2 Gen 1 port.
