The package includes 2 × WD RED 4TB drives
The Synology DS218j supports two 2.5" or 3.5" hard drives. Both positions are fitted with WD RED 4TB drives. Other expansion ports that are supported include two USB 3.0 ports and, of course, an RJ-45 1GbE LAN port.
The NAS as a File Server
The Synology DS218j contains a fast and secure tool called DS File for sharing and managing your files. You can upload your data by simply dragging them onto your Mac or PC. Advanced filters make it easier to find your documents, photos or videos. The NAS can also be used as a centralised backup location. Whenever a file is edited, the changes are automatically backed up by the Cloud Station Backup. It synchronises files between the DiskStation and multiple platforms including Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, and Windows Mobile as well as Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Box, hubiC, and Baidu Cloud.
