What MacBooks Are the Most Popular?

Powerful M1 Chip

After much anticipation and 15 years of waiting, Apple has finally decided to take the big step—use its proprietary Apple M1 processors. Apple is thus the only manufacturer in full control of the development of its devices from A to Z. But what does this mean for users?

M1 výkon

Performance

Apple has invested billions of dollars to manufacture and deliver its first M1 chip for deployment in Macs in 2020. And that bet has certainly paid off. How does it perform in practice when compared to the older Intel CPUs used in the MacBook Air?

For example, the Apple M1 in MacBook Air can process video up to 3.9× faster than a quad-core Core i7. It's up to 7× faster at processing high-resolution photos and has much higher multithreading performance at barely a quarter the power draw. So you can do any demanding task much faster than on older, much more expensive Macs. You can really see the difference of this faster chip when you have many web browser windows open at the same time, or during the butter-smooth system response to your every request. And unlike Windows, macOS will maintain this beautiful speed and responsivity for years after you install the system.

M1 výkon

If we take a closer look at Apple's 8-core M1 chip itself, we find that it's a technological marvel currently unmatched by the competition. The M1 is also the first ever 5nm chip manufactured by TSMC. Though to be more precise, it's a so-called SoC (socket on chip). This is a single larger chip that integrates a CPU, GPU, DDR4 memory, Thunderbolt 4 controller, I/O interface and T2 security. On the Intel platform, everything was scattered all over the motherboard. With Apple's M1, all of these components have been combined into a single chip, promising a noticeable increase in performance with reduced power draw.

Then, in the fall of 2021, a new generation of the popular MacBook Pro was introduced, featuring even more powerful Apple M1 Pro and Apple M1 Max chips. In the case of M1 Pro, Apple promises 70% more processor power and even double the graphics performance compared to M1. And with the more powerful M1 Max chip, we'll see support for up to 64GB of shared memory or up to four external displays, which you'll appreciate when working with demanding programs and apps. Graphics performance comes from a 32-core GPU with up to a 4x performance boost over M1. In total, Apple's M1 Max has 57 billion transistors, making it the largest chip Apple has ever made.

Battery

Since Apple designs its M1 chips specifically for the macOS operating system, you'll enjoy incredible battery life in addition to blazing performance. For the thin, passively cooled, and completely silent MacBook Air, it means 18 hours of movie watching via Apple TV. You can also expect 15 hours of battery life in normal use. No comparable Windows laptop can offer you that.

And because Apple's not resting on its laurels, you can get up to 21 hours of video playback on a single charge with the newer, more powerful M1 Pro 16-inch MacBook Pro. That's an incredible amount of juice, and it should be enough to convince you that MacBook Pro will be your next work pal.

Privacy

Internet privacy isn't just something you should hope for, it's something you should expect. That's why all Macs come with the Safari browser, which includes powerful privacy technology. Its arguably most notable feature is the intelligent prevention of tracking your website activity, which prevents ad profiling. A new weekly privacy report on the home page shows how Safari protects you as you browse. Or you can click the Privacy Report button on the Safari toolbar to get an instant overview of the trackers Safari is actively blocking on a given website.

Safari also uses Keychain in iCloud to securely store passwords across all your devices. If it ever detects a security issue, Password Monitoring will alert you to it. Safari also automatically prevents suspicious websites from loading and alerts you if it detects them. And because websites run in separate processes, any malicious code is limited to a single browser tab and can't crash your entire system or access your data.

Security

Apple's M1 chip with integrated Secure Enclave architecture brings the same powerful security features to Mac as iPhone. So the hardware carefully protects your login password, automatically encrypts your data, and provides encryption down to the file level to keep you safe. And Apple's M1 chip protects macOS on the fly, just like iOS has protected iPhone for years.

And if your Mac does fall into the wrong hands, your data is safe with FileVault 2. This security system comprehensively encrypts your Mac's entire drive using XTS-AES 128. Macs built on Apple's M1 chip go even further in protecting your data, using special hardware to protect your login password, too.

Mac Is Easy

Yes, it's true that the macOS operating system is straightforward and perfectly intuitive. But if you've been using a Windows PC for years, you need to gradually change some of your old habits. To name a few, there's the completely different way of installing apps, the unusually placed menu elements, or the complete absence of a central button represented by the iconic Start button. But if you already do have an Apple device, you'll get used to your Mac really quick.

Getting Started (Apple ID and iCloud)

When you first start up your Mac, you'll be prompted to sign in to your account with your Apple ID. This is an absolutely necessary step to ensure seamless syncing of user data across all your Apple products. That way, you'll have access to your contacts, messages, photos, notes, and calendar everywhere. Don't have an Apple ID? That's okay, the wizard will help you get it up and running with just a few clicks.

When you first log in to the macOS operating system environment, you can start working right away or familiarise yourself with controls like the top Menu Bar or the prominent Dock at the bottom, which is essentially a launcher for your favourite apps.

macOS

The modern operating system in the current version of Monterey is tailored to the hardware. This makes it significantly more reliable than Windows. At the same time, Apple cares so much about its users that macOS Monterey can be installed even on a 2013 Mac Pro.

When we look at the other features of macOS, one of the main roles is played by the high level of data security and privacy protection. For example, if someone steals your MacBook, it's virtually impossible for them to access your data. You can even remotely wipe your MacBook, send a contact message to it, or lock it in such a way that the thief won't be able to perform a factory reset (you need to set a password along with the user password to access the built-in macOS Recovery system.

Continuity

Users of multiple Apple devices will appreciate the fact that iPhone, iPad, Mac or Watch are always communicating with each other in a smart way. So you can click and answer a phone call while working on your Mac without having to pick up your iPhone. Likewise, you can reply to text messages from your Mac. Or use Universal Clipboard to copy texts, pictures or videos from one Apple device to another. And replace a missing WiFi connection with a shared hotspot that automatically connects to your Mac or iPad.

Handoff

Further proof of how beautifully connected Apple devices are is the feature called Handoff. This means you can use your iPhone to write an email and use your Mac to finish it later. Handoff can be used with many Apple apps, including Calendar, Contacts, Pages, and Safari. Some third-party apps can also work with Handoff.

iCloud

An integral part of every free Apple ID account is a cloud space called simply iCloud. This is where all your key files and settings are stored. Each user has a basic 5GB, but you'll find out pretty soon that paying a few pennies for a subscription with multiple times the capacity is definitely worth it. Because if you're using an iPhone and a Mac, everything will sync quickly and easily, including any photos you've taken or videos you've recorded.

Find My

One day, you may face the unpleasant fact that you have lost your Mac or somebody had stolen it. In that case, Find My is a service that can help you track down the device. How, you ask? Apple simply uses all the active devices in your vicinity to do it. So all you have to do is wait until your stolen MacBook is booted at a coffee shop where there are typically several customers with iPhones in their pockets. Needless to say, the whole thing works without the need for the lost device to be connected to the internet.

In addition to locating the device, it can be remotely wiped, completely locked, or have a message with contact details displayed on it.

Touch ID

Biometric fingerprint login first appeared on the iPhone, but it's gradually made its way to Mac keyboards and, of course, MacBooks. It's an essential security feature that saves you from having to constantly enter complex passwords. You can also use Touch ID to confirm app installs or purchases with Apple Pay.

Switching to Mac

If you're worried about switching from Windows to Mac, have no fear. Sure, the logic for controlling some features is different on macOS than on Windows 10, but it's just a matter of habit that will fade after a few days or weeks.

However, you may be more concerned about how to transfer data from your old PC to your Mac. Instead of manually copying to external drives, Windows Migration Assistant helps you get things done. It automatically transfers files from your user profile on Windows to similar folders on your Mac. Of course, don't count on transferring your installed apps, which is not possible due to the fundamental difference in systems.

Apple Ecosystem

The vast majority of users who have switched from competitors to Apple products rave about their seamless connectivity, design and minimal setup. All you have to do is sign in with one Apple ID to use all the features, and there's virtually nothing else to worry about. This saves Apple device users a lot of time that they would otherwise have to spend on complicated setup on competing platforms.

Each user has a basic 5GB, but you'll find out pretty soon that paying a few pennies for a subscription with multiple times the capacity is definitely worth it.

After all, iCloud itself is a powerful service deeply integrated into every Apple device. In fact, iCloud is what makes the much-vaunted comprehensive synchronisation work. So you'll always have your documents, notes, reminders, settings, messages, photos, videos, Safari history and more all within your Apple ID.

Find My

One day, you may face the unpleasant fact that you have lost your Mac or somebody had stolen it. In that case, Find My is a service that can help you track down the device. How, you ask? Or use Universal Clipboard to copy texts, pictures or videos from one Apple device to another. And replace a missing WiFi connection with a shared hotspot that automatically connects to your Mac or iPad.

Speaking of Continuity, we must highlight the Mac and iPhone's connectivity in the area of photography or scanning. I'm sure you've had the experience of needing to attach a scanned document or photo to an open email on your Mac. Here, you can just select import directly in the internal Mail app, and the Camera app opens right away on the iPhone.

Messages & Calls

Who doesn't know iMessage? An iMessage is a text, photo or video you send to another iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or Mac over WiFi or cellular networks. These messages are always encrypted and appear in blue text bubbles. And of course, they're completely free! So you don't have to limit yourself when typing them, and you can use the comfortable keyboard of your Mac. Yes, both iMessage and classic SMS messages are fully forwarded from iPhone to Mac, where you can continue the conversation.

Calling works the same way. You can take full advantage of FaceTime right on your Mac or simply enjoy classic phone calls. For example, if you have your iPhone on a charger, you can take a call on your Mac with one click.

Universal Mailbox

As you use multiple Apple devices, you'll appreciate a feature called Universal Mailbox. It works exactly as you'd expect. For example, simply select a text, image or other content on your iPhone, select the copy function and the copied object is automatically added to the clipboard of another nearby device. For example, on a MacBook, where you can simply paste the desired content and then work with it.

AirDrop

AirDrop is great for transferring files and content of all kinds between your iPhone, iPad and Mac. The great thing about AirDrop is that Apple devices come with it by default, so there's no need to install or set up anything. With AirDrop, you can wirelessly exchange photos, documents, and other content with Apple devices near you.

For security reasons, AirDrop is set up to receive content exclusively from saved contacts. However, you can manually enable content sharing for specific foreign devices as well.

Instant Hotspot

Most iPhone users know about a feature called Personal Hotspot. This allows you to easily share your mobile data connection with other users or your own devices. Simply put, with Personal Hotspot you can turn your iPhone into a portable WiFi router. Of course, it must be stressed that you need a sufficient data plan, because watching videos, for example, will definitely take a few GB per day.

Personal Hotspot has one magical advantage in the Apple ecosystem. Thanks to the aforementioned Continuity and unified Apple ID, you can connect to the hotspot on your Mac completely automatically and without entering a password.

AirPlay on Mac

An exciting new feature in macOS 12 Monterey is AirPlay from your iPhone or iPad to your Mac without having to install any third-party apps. You'll use this not only when you're streaming video to the larger Mac screen, but also especially if you need to share your iPhone or iPad screen on your computer.

Mac Is Compatible

You may be familiar with stories from years ago when macOS users had trouble opening documents sent to them by Windows users. Similarly, the common wisdom was that almost no printer would work with a Mac, or you'd miss most of the apps you use every day. In reality, things are very different today. Everything you are probaly familiar with works automatically on a Mac, and much more easily than you're used to. After all, that's why tens of millions of people around the world enjoy macOS. Especially creatives, programmers, but also entire households and ordinary users who benefit from the great connectivity with other devices under one Apple ID.

Basic Files

We have great news for you! Common files such as PDFs, documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), images, music, videos, and more can be opened on Macs without any problems using the internal pre-installed applications. Just click on a file directly on the desktop or search for it using the Finder, which is similar to the classic Windows Explorer. And if you need something new, there's nothing easier than installing the app you need.

App Installation

The way you install apps may be new when you switch to a Mac, but if you can install an app on an iPhone or other smartphone, you can do it on a Mac. Overall, there are three ways to install apps.

The first is the most common and involves installing apps approved directly by Apple and available in the Mac App Store. This is identical to installing apps on iPhone or iPad. The second method is easy and involves simply dragging the app icon into the apps folder. The third way is more reminiscent of the Windows systems and is implemented by a separate installer. However, Apple is working hard to make sure that as many apps as possible can be installed using the Mac App Store. It's also easy to have apps automatically updated to the latest version via the App Store.

MS Office

All Macs come with Apple's free iWork office suite right out of the box. It's a simplified copy of Microsoft's Office, but for the vast majority of users, it's enough to work with documents or create impressive presentations at ease. In everyday practice, you'll appreciate that iWork can open, edit, or create files compatible with Word, Excel, and Powerpoint for free.

However, it's possible that if you've been working in MS Office for years, iWork may not be right for you. That's why Microsoft Office 2021 is available for installation on macOS. However, most users prefer Microsoft 365, which includes 1TB of cloud storage or team communication tools in addition to Office apps.

Hardware (Printers, Displays, Mouse, WiFi, Drives, etc.)

From a user perspective, the macOS operating system has gained a lot of popularity in recent years. So it's not surprising that virtually any accessory will work seamlessly. That said, we have to exclude from this group some truly ancient accessories like outdated printers or scanners.

This means that you can easily connect a flash drive, external drive, mouse, keyboard, printer, monitor, and other peripherals that you already have and use with your Windows computer to your Mac. In some cases, you will only need to purchase an adapter for the correct connector.

For example, if you get an external hard drive or flash drive, you can use it on macOS without any problems. Most manufacturers, however, expect you to use it primarily in Windows, so you'll need to reformat the drive to exFAT directly, which is easily done with a few clicks in the Disk Utility app right on your Mac. The pre-formatted drive can be used not only in a macOS environment, but also on a Windows PC.

Cloud Apps (Dropbox, Google Drive etc.)

App developers adore macOS because it offers a standardised environment that eliminates many of the hassles they know from the fragmented Windows system. You'll have no problem installing a wide range of apps or getting access to multi-platform cloud services. In addition to the built-in iCloud, you can use Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox and many others.

Communication & Creative Work

One of the most compelling reasons to get a Mac is the apps available only for macOS. This is especially true for creative work, as one of Apple's core ideas is to free users from unnecessary work and give them more room for their own creativity. Working with photos, video, graphics or music is a very good example of this.

The proof is in working with photos, where macOS means you don't have to deal with the typical folder structure and organisation of photos at all. Instead, you use clear system libraries that do most of the work for you. Along with non-destructive bulk editing, it also saves time and, most importantly, protects your photos.

If you like to express yourself with your voice or have a creative spirit when it comes to composing music, then Mac is the haven you need. That's because you get a wealth of simple and complex apps designed from the ground up for Apple devices. After all, if you look at virtually any musician, DJ, or sound engineer, they use Macs to do their work in addition to their musical instruments, almost without exception.

Communication is important when working as a team. The internal FaceTime app now supports the ability to join a group call from Android and Windows platforms as well, which comes in handy when some users don't have access to Apple devices. But of course, any other platform can be chosen for communication, such as Skype, Teams, Zoom WhatsApp and more.

Mac and iOS Apps

With the advent of Apple's M1 chip came a very interesting innovation to the world of macOS operating system. Thanks to the hardware similarity, it is possible to run selected apps and games designed for iOS or iPadOS on Mac.

Simply go to the Mac App Store, search for an app, and then under the Results heading, you can switch to the iPad and iPhone apps option. After a quick installation, the app can be launched and used. However, in some cases you can tell that the controls are designed for touch functionality, which is not possible on a Mac. However, the amount of fully supported apps is increasing.

Mac Is Affordable

Macs are well known for their distinctive design, but they're also perfectly intuitive, powerful and tuned to be ready to work right out of the box. That's because every Mac comes with a perfectly optimised macOS operating system that comes with a host of essential apps. To name a few, there's the comprehensive iWork office suite, video editing and photo editing options. With a highly optimised system with high security and long-term support, you'll be free from the need to invest in antivirus or hardware upgrades.

It should also be mentioned that thanks to the timeless design, high performance and absolutely minimal failure rate, the price of a purchased Mac computer drops only very slowly. That's why it will last you for years without any issues. However, some users change their computers every 24 or 36 months because selling an older one can give you, for example, 75% of the purchase price back, making it easier and more convenient to buy a new Mac.

We recommend taking out repayment capacity insurance with the loan, the cost of the insurance is 7.99% of the monthly loan payment.

The provider of the loan is BNP PARIBAS PERSONAL FINANCE (which uses the trademark Hello bank! by Cetelem in the Czech Republic). Alza.cz a.s. is the intermediary of the loan as a bound agent and represents the loan provider on the basis of a cooperation agreement. Alza 1/3

It is understandable that some users like to buy goods on installments, which, however, entails an increase in the purchase price due to interest. That's why we invented Alza 1/3. What is it? Simply pay a third of the purchase price for the selected Mac on the day of purchase and then pay the rest, ⅔ of the purchase price, within 3 months. All without any fees or interest.

Alza NEO

Electronic devices don't have to be an investment. They are a work tool that we want to work properly and get it for a reasonable price. Alza NEO is a rental service, thanks to which companies—or even individuals—can have the latest iPhones, Macs and other electronics at their disposal at all times. All without the hassle of maintaining them, high purchase costs or the worry about breakage and theft.

For example, you can get a new MacBook Air M1 for a monthly rental price starting from CZK 730!

Refurbished Macs

Since Apple's Macs tend to last a long time, it's definitely worth looking into refurbished models that are cheaper but still come with a warranty. The cheapest Mac you can get is one marked as used. These are used or refurbished Macs without any defects. The contents of the package are complete and the Mac is ready to use, which we can safely guarantee with a 12-month warranty.

You can also find Macs in our range marked as "As good as new", which means that the Mac has been used only briefly and is fully functional. It is covered by a 21-month warranty and of course comes with a full set of accessories in the box.

The last option are unsealed Macs, which come with a full 24-month warranty. These typically have only had the original packaging opened, have replacement packaging or the Mac has been returned by other customers, for example because it was an unwanted gift.

Mac for You

The new MacBooks are literally loaded with features. In addition to their seamless connection with the iPhone, security, privacy, access to a range of creative apps and a wealth of software directly from the manufacturer are big draws. The success of MacBooks is primarily due to the macOS operating system, which is tailored to MacBooks. The system and programs remain smoothly responsive even after several years of use. What's more, macOS is perfectly secure. Other differentiating features include the exceptional Retina displays, the perfect keyboard and the unbeatable trackpad.

And let's face it: the overall premium look is also a major plus, making ordinary laptops look like unsightly blocks. In light of all these advantages, it's no wonder that MacBooks (and iPhones, too) are losing price at a significantly slower rate, which can be capitalised on in the eventual sale.

Apple Expert

Do you have any questions about the Apple brand? Our Expert is just the person you're looking for. An Apple Expert is a dedicated consultant trained directly by Apple to answer all sorts of questions quickly and reliably.

An Apple Expert is a real person, so you don't have to worry about getting stuck in a loop with an automated robot when you join a chat. If our Apple Expert is at work, you can reach him or her via the pop-up window at the bottom right of the screen, anytime in our e-store on the Apple product pages. If you prefer physical contact, our trained Apple Product Specialists can be reached at select key locations. For example, Alza Holešovice, Alza Plzeň, Alza Brno, Alza Ostrava Futurum or Alza Bratislava Mlynské Nivy 5/A.

Getting Started

Understandably, not everyone has the time or inclination to get to grips with setting up a new Mac. That's why we offer our popular Getting Started service. Simply add your chosen Mac to your basket and then add the Getting Started option in the next step. You can then specify whether you're interested in a one-year licence for the Microsoft 365 office suite along with setting up your new Mac. If this is the case, you should expect the delivery to take two to three days due to the necessary handling of the selected product.

If you already have a new Mac at home, but you're not sure how to get it up and running, don't despair. It's possible to use the First Launch Online service. Simply connect your Mac to WiFi and an IT specialist will connect remotely to help you set up your Apple ID, install the accompanying software and answer your questions throughout the process.

MacBook Worry-Free

Few products match the premium quality of Apple's Macs. Thanks to their timeless design, their price drops only minimally over time, paving the way for easy and inexpensive Mac replacement every three years, for example.

However, if you're getting your first Mac, there are a few ways to tackle the initial higher investment. The Alza 1/3 program is extremely popular with customers, where you simply pay one-third of the purchase price for your Mac on the day of purchase and then pay the rest, ⅔ of the purchase price, within 3 months. And all without any fees or interest.

Of course, it is possible to get a Mac on a classic installment plan for, say, 36 months, where the regular lump sum drops to a reasonable amount. Especially if, for example, you need a quality and reliable computer for your work or business. And because Macs are generally very reliable, there's no reason to worry about buying an unboxed or refurbished unit. These are slightly used or serviced products, but you'll still get a minimum 12-month warranty. Such a Mac will be cheaper than a new one, which combined with installment payments makes Macs affortable to virtually everybody.

Maybe you're part of the young and progressive generation and don't want to deal with maintenance worries or higher acquisition costs. That's why Alza NEO offers new Macs for lease. It's easy to furbish your home or business with several Apple products in no time. You can get a new MacBook Air M1 for a monthly rental starting from CZK 730!

Mac Accessories

Apple has pioneered everything with its iconic Macs. Back in 2016, it exclusively equipped its laptops with USB-C connectors with Thunderbolt 3 support. So it's clear that if you use a lot of peripherals, you'll need to get some accessories for your Mac. This is also understood by the various manufacturers, who offer a wide range from USB-C adapters to various holders or external storage.

USB-C Adapters

We have great news! Common files such as PDFs, documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), images, music, videos, and more can be opened on Macs without any problems using the internal pre-installed apps. Just click on a file directly on the desktop or search for it using the Finder, which is similar to the classic Windows Explorer. And if you need something extra, there's nothing easier than installing the app you need.

You'll find the same USB C (Thunderbolt) connector on every Mac available, which is used for both charging and extremely fast data transfer for connecting external drives or monitors.

If you'll be connecting devices to your MacBook that don't have a USB-C (Thunderbolt) connector, you'll need an adapter or a USB HUB. Thanks to Thunderbolt's capabilities, such USB-C adapters come with a variety of connectors. These include HDMI, classic USB-A connectors or a memory card reader. Last but not least, you also get a gigabit Ethernet port, which comes in handy mostly in corporate enviroments.

And if you want to make sure your adapter is always fully functional, choose genuine Apple products. There are USB-C to USB-A, SD card reader, gigabit Ethernet, FireWire, and video adapters with HDMI or VGA to choose from.

So always choose a USB-C adapter (HUB) that boasts full Thunderbolt support. That's the only way to get reliable connectivity for a wide range of accessories, audio and power.

Chargers

In addition to transferring data, the aforementioned USB-C adapter is also used to charge your MacBook. However, Apple has come up with the historically popular MagSafe connector in recent generations of its MacBook Pro. If we talk about computers exclusively, it's simply a magnetic power connector. What are the advantages? Aside from the fact that it snaps itself onto the connector when you approach it, it's just as easy to unplug. This is especially useful if you accidentally trip over the power cable, for example. With the typical plug-in method, your MacBook would come flying off the table. With MagSafe magnetic power, there's no such risk.

Mice & Keyboards

If you often work with a large display, you'll typically keep your MacBook closed or as a second display. Either way, you won't be able to take advantage of the great built-in Magic Keyboard or Force Touch trackpad. This is perhaps the key reason to get an external control accessory.

The obvious choice is the wireless Magic Keyboard straight from Apple. With a scissor mechanism under each key and a lower profile, typing is extremely comfortable. And above all, it's accurate even when typing with all ten fingers. A competitive advantage is the integrated Touch ID button for securely logging into macOS without entering a password. There's also a numeric keypad that's perfect for working with spreadsheets and financial apps. Despite the wireless design, the Magic Keyboard lasts up to a month on a single charge in normal use and then charges just like an iPhone using a Lightning cable.

We can also highly recommend the Apple Magic Mouse 2, which thanks to its ergonomic design is great for many hours of work. It provides ample relief for your wrists, yet offers popular touch gestures for easy flipping through documents or flipping through photos. The Magic Mouse 2's surface is touch-sensitive, which is usually lacking in competing mice models.

The external Magic Trackpad also enjoys a high degree of popularity among users. It offers a huge touch surface measuring approximately 160 × 115mm and supports a full range of Multi-Touch gestures. It also features Force Touch technology, which lets you access additional features of many Mac apps and system tools by pressing and then pinching.

However, you can choose virtually any brand other than genuine Apple accessories. In our personal experience, you won't be disappointed by Logitech keyboards or mice, which offer a high standard for a reasonable price. Ideally, choose from devices that support Bluetooth communication, as it's not possible for a typical USB receiver to connect to a Mac.

AirPods

Headphones as such are nothing new to Apple's lineup, but truly wireless headphones have a slightly more recent history. Specifically, the first generation of AirPods were introduced in September 2016, and over time they've become the best-selling wireless headphones in the world for a number of reasons.

Today, we've got the 3rd generation, plus AirPods Pro with active noise cancellation or the truly luxury AirPods Max for music connoisseurs. What do they all have in common?

Sheer ease of use, including switching between different Apple devices. Simply listen to your favourite music from your iPhone on the go, and when you pair it to your Mac, it automatically switches to the Mac you're currently using. It all happens based on your Apple ID and the Continuity feature. The Apple AirPods have also become very popular among users because of the ease with which a call can go from iPhone to Mac, or for the convenience of listening to music in the synced Apple Music library or while watching movies or playing games. AirPods also have the advantage of being able to share audio across two different pairs.

Displays

It's clear that a quality display will make the user experience complete. Thus, Apple offers a stunning 6K Pro Display HDR. It is the best professional monitor in the world, and has a price to match. However, you needn't despair, as virtually any monitor equipped with the necessary connector can be connected to Macs.

We know from experience that users request monitors with a built-in USB-C hub with their Macs. This allows you to connect your Mac with just one cable, through which data, video, audio, and, in the case of the MacBook itself, even power can flow. Such a monitor then offers several USB-A ports or a LAN connector. It's a smart solution because the monitor replaces the USB-C HUB that often gets in the way on your desk.

Cases

We recommend getting a carrying case for your MacBook. This acts primarily as a protective element, but also as a design accessory. The original leather sleeve for MacBook Air is made for Apple from premium materials. However, there are a number of cases or backpacks on the market that are custom-made specifically for MacBook Air or MacBook Pro. You can always be sure that the case will fit the MacBook you're using.

Stands

Maybe you want to use your MacBook like a pro, including multi-screen output. That's when you'll appreciate ergonomic aluminium stands that allow you to position your laptop in just the right way. Stand placement also frees up desk space or provides better cooling for your MacBook.

However, the stand can also work well in conjunction with an iMac, which has less positioning options due to its design. With a quality stand, you can adjust the height of your display so that you can try working standing up, which has a beneficial effect on your entire body.

HDD & SSD

Since Macs use extremely fast SSDs for internal storage, the price is a bit higher for the higher capacity. However, there is a solution. That is to get an external drive, ideally one with a USB-C connector right out of the box to take advantage of the high transfer speeds. The price of such drives with a capacity of hundreds of GBs or several TBs has been dropping for a long time, which is only good from the user's point of view.

Within external drives, you have the option of choosing between ultra-fast SSDs with rather lower capacities. If you are working with large data volumes, then definitely choose an external drive with a classic platter drive. For compatibility reasons, always purchase a new external drive with a USB-C connector and ideally a Thunderbolt transfer interface.

As a second option, you can opt for a NAS server with a capacity of over 10TB. This is a device that you set up once and then have access to not only on your home network, but often also from work. In addition, a modern NAS server can be used by the whole family, for example, to store multimedia files or for backup purposes.

Printers

Apple does not manufacture printers itself, so you need to shop around. If you've purchased a new printer recently, it's highly likely that it will work seamlessly on macOS. Old printers can sometimes have problems, but if it worked on Windows 7 or Windows 10, it will print on macOS too.

For a modern Mac, we recommend a suitable printer with WiFi connectivity where you can use AirPrint technology. This works without having to install any additional software or drivers. The benefits of AirPrint include simple printing directly from the iPhone, easy device discovery, automatic media selection and company-level finishing features.
