SEDCO trekking poles are ideal for mountain hikes. The sticks engage the upper body during walking by forcing the arms to move back and forth by bouncing the tip off the ground. Hold the sticks at a 45 degree angle with the points driven in behind the body, not straight, in front of the body, handles are at a slight angle without finger grooves, the straps are more like gloves, to help with prolonged swinging arm movement. The shafts have two threads and are tightened or loosened by moving them to the right and left. Always tighten them firmly (but not over-tighten) to prevent unintentional insertion.
