Luminous flux
This is given in lumens (lm) and the higher its value, the more intensely the head torch shines. Some LED head torches offer multiple levels of light intensity, adjustable either in steps or continuously. However, a higher luminous flux shortens the battery life.Up to 100 lm – a head torch for home use (lighting in the cellar, loft, or when repairing a car).
100–400 lm – outdoor use (night running, cycling, camping).
Over 400 lm – extreme professions and sports (rescuers, mountaineers).
