What makes Nominal Nomik porridge stand out?

  • Universal use: Kashi can also be used to thicken soups or sauces, as a binder for minced meat or vegetable mixtures (meatballs) or to thicken confectionery fillings (e.g. apple, cottage cheese).
  • Rice as part of the diet: Rice is grown in a landscape where it is warm and humid. Such countries are called tropical. There are many types of rice in the world, such as round grain rice for risotto, glutinous rice for dumplings or mountain basmati. Rice grows in water, practically in a swamp, and looks like a thick tuft of grass with lots of grains at the end of each blade. When it is harvest time, the water is drained and the rice is harvested. In some areas it is possible to harvest three times a year. A full quarter of the world's people eat mainly rice.
  • Jahli as a plant related to rice:You could easily mistake the plants in the field for thick, taller grass. However, it is also a related crop to rice. The unhulled seeds are called millet. The familiar peck for the birds. The peeled grains have the name jáhly in Czech. Eggs are a tasty, nutritious and healthy food that will fill any tummy. For our great-great-grandmothers I was the most used cereal. There was no shortage of porridge and dumplings in any kitchen. It may be the same in yours.

Preparation

You can prepare Nomk porridge according to your own ideas. It is not flavoured, you choose what other ingredients or sweeteners you want or can use. So it's up to you what you flavour it with or how thick it will be. It is suitable for both sweet and savoury preparation. Use approximately three to four times the amount of hot liquid and "fine-tune" the density to your liking. Expect the porridge to swell and thicken within 3-5 minutes.

A few tips for preparation

  • You can stir the porridge in hot milk, your favourite vegetable milk (coconut, almond, rice, etc. ) or e.g. in yogurt and water.
  • Sweeten it? Flavouring can be e.g. honey or some sweet vegetable syrup (cereal, maple, chicory,. ). But the milk already has a sweet taste.
  • All kinds of fruit are friends with porridge, preferably fresh, dried fruit tastes good too.
  • A little spice may come in handy. Cinnamon or star anise are a must, but you can also try a pinch of cloves and others.
  • Yogurt or cottage cheese will provide protein.
  • Don't forget the seeds and nuts.
  • Quality chocolate or homemade jam can be added for the sweet tooth.
  • Or the other way around. The thick porridge can also be prepared as a savoury dish. This includes herbs, garlic, mushrooms, parmesan cheese, onions and avocados.
