The JRC Contact carousel has a weight of 3 lbs, which indicates the bar test curve. You will find out at what load the beam bends to the right angle and derives the maximum throwing load converted to grams. Three pounds corresponds to 1361 grams, and after dividing this figure by 16 you get about 85 grams, which is the maximum throwing load. Here it is expected that you will cast with maximum force, bounce or even run. What is important is that you will not harm the rod at all. You can also use a heavier line, but then you should definitely cast more cautiously.
