Appearances can be deceiving
A sophisticated smartwatch hidden under an ordinary façade, the Garmin Fenix 3 is an excellent extension to your smartphone, and an uncompromising sporttester. The watch is equipped with a sensitive GPS/GLONASS receiver with a new steel EXO antenna that is placed around the colour Chroma display. The display itself is always on and can last for up to 6 weeks (in Smart mode) on a single battery charge.
Monitor your daily activity
The Fenix 3 watch is designed to help you track all your day-to-day activities. You can set set the target number of steps per day, track the number of steps and distance traveled, and display burned calories (including passive). Elsewhere, the Garmin Connect web interface allows you to easily evaluate and compare your performances in detail.
Visual design and construction
The Garmin Fenix 3 features a 1.2" circular colour display with a resolution of 218 x 218px. Unlike other smart watches on the market, the display is always on and boasts oustanding clarity even in direct sunlight. In the basic version, the watch is 20g lighter and noticeably thinner than the previous Fenix 2 generation.
Training features
The Fenix 3 watch is among the best equipped watches in today's market, and it has a wide range of training features to back it up. You can tweak settings like different heart rate alarms, running pace, speed, distance, and overall performance. It is also possible to use ready-made training plans for running or cycling.
Swimming and skiing
Owing to its high durability and built-in sensors, the Garmin Fenix 3 can also be used for swimming training. Next time you're in the pool, you can use your watch to track distance, SWOLF value, swimming efficiency, and number of strokes. The watch also recognizes your current swimming style. Additionally, fans of winter sports will be pleased with features for cross-country and downhill skiing. Using the built-in barometer, the watch recognizes when you are skiing and when you are on the lift.
Wireless connectivity
The watch can be connected to smart Android and iOS mobile devices via Bluetooth, and can display smart notifications after pairing with your device. With built-in Wi-Fi support, the watch is also able to send training data or download updates without you having to switch on your computer or phone. The ANT+ wireless standard, mainly used to connect fitness accessories, is also supported.
