Sparkfun Block is an extension for the Edison electronic kit, from Intel the processor manufacturer. It is an ultra small computer platform that caters for creating entertaining technological experiments and real design work. The Intel Edison Breakout Board Kit is powered by an Intel Atom dual core processor with integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth interface, 1GB RAM, 4GB SSD storage, all built on a 3.5 x 2.5cm unit.
Edison continues where Intel Arduino stops, so when you want to learn how to design electronic circuits with Arduino and its performance slows you, you go further with Intel Edison.
This expansion will ultimately come with an I2C isolator which can extend the Intel Edison 1.8V bus to your sensor's voltage. It is possible to plug it into your kit and use it immediately.
