The Sparkfun Block is an extension for the Edison electronic kit from the workshop leader in desktop processors, Intel. It is an ultra-small computing platform that is used for technological entertainment experiments and real design work. The Intel Edison Breakout Board Kit is powered by an Intel Atom dual-core processor with integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth interface, 1GB RAM and 4GB SSD storage, all built on a 3.5 x 2.5cm unit.
Edison continues where Intel Arduino left off, so when you learn how to design electronic circuits with Arduino, and its performance isn't enough for you anymore - then Intel Edison is waiting for you.
This block provides access to all basic GPIO, PWM and UART 2 pins. All GPIOs are adapted to 3.3V or VSYS. This extension also provides access to the three branches which can be found on Intel Edison.
VSYS and GND are also accessible to create prototypes. In order to drive devices with greater current consumption (motors, relays, etc.), then an external switch will most likely be needed.
