Sony Distagon FE 35mm f/1.4
This full-frame wide-angle lens with a fixed focal length is equipped with the legendary Zeiss optics. The lens is designed for professionals and demanding amateur photographers with the intention of shooting portraits, everyday snapshots, and night-time scenarios. Its shallow depth-of-field and circular 9-blade aperture help to easily create a smooth bokeh effect. In addition, its minimum focus distance makes it possible to take detailed photographs of flowers and other similar objects.
Key Features
- Wide-angle ZEISS Full-Frame lens with fixed focal length 35mm
- Zeiss T* anti-glare coating eliminates lens flare
- Direct drive SSM for quiet, highly precise focus control
- Circular 9-blade aperture for a beautiful bokeh effect
- Dust and moisture-resistant
The noiseless and precise DDSSM focus drive takes care of focus in both photo and video modes, even at the lowest depth-of-field. A responsive aperture ring enables you to switch between two modes - touch response mode for still images and continuous silent mode for shooting videos.
Excellent colour and contrast
This lens is the first of the new E-mount range that offers an exceptional F1.4 aperture. Even when fully open, the image remains razor sharp from edge to edge. This is provided by a sophisticated lens mechanism with spherical optical elements, including one AS (advanced spherical) element from Sony. The Zeiss T* anti-glare coating reduces lens flare and ghosting, resulting in unmatched optical performance, accurate colour reproduction, and excellent contrast.
Like all FE lenses, this lens is dust and moisture resistant, making it ideal for use in harsh environments. The packaging includes a lens hood and a practical protective case.

Sony Corporation is a Japanese company founded in 1946. Its headquarters is located in Tokyo. Its beginnings were humble. The first product sold under the Sony brand was a transistor radio. It was those radios that played a pivotal role in the company's expansion in the 1960s and the world quickly began to associate Sony products with a reliably stellar price-performance ratio. In the 1970s, Sony was severely affected by the global economic crisis. Many analysts considered the company effectively defunct and could see no future for it. However, they underestimated the famous Japanese perseverance and courage. The crisis was not a disaster for Sony; on the contrary, it served as a launching pad to even greater heights. The company recovered and soon changed the media landscape with the development of the CD and later the DVD. In the early 1990s, Sony achieved another major success with the introduction of the PlayStation gaming console. It is the gaming consoles that best represent the intersection of the three key areas in which the company operates today – electronics, video games, and the entertainment industry.
