The lens has been designed to perfectly fit the size of the 23.5 × 15.7mm sensor, which is used in PENTAX digital SLR cameras to optimise the performance of the camera. The design also contributes to significant reduction in size and weight compared to the 35mm format with similar specifications.

Optical Correction

The lens suppresses successfully defects occurring during the passage through the lens, according to the experience of photographers. Therefore, a lens element with the Extra-low Dispersion (ED) has been used in the construction of the lens, providing superior sharpness with minimal chromatic aberration. Additionally, an SP layer (Super Protect) has been added as a protection against dust, water and grease to prevent damage to the captured images by the dirt on the front lens.
