Stellar optical performance

The lens employs an entirely new optical design and premium components for unparallelled image quality. The lens contains two FLD (fluorite) elements and one special glass, thanks to which it boasts a high degree of anomalous particle dispersion and a high refractive index to achieve peak performance.

Upgraded sharpening

Compared to its predecessors, this lens features an upgraded Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) focus. It now reaches 1.3 times the torque for fast and efficient autofocus. Full time manual focus can be engaged by rotating the focus ring, even during continuous shooting. The nine-blade rounded diaphragm creates perfect background bokeh to isolate and emphasise the subject.
