The lightweight and compact lens Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC MACRO OS HSM uses a new optical design that consists of 16 optical elements in 14 groups. The new Contemporary series uses thermally stable composite materials to provide greater durability of the lens and reduce size of the models up to 30% when compared to the previous ones.
This model is for Canon SLR cameras with a Canon EF-S mount.
The advantage of this lens is its high aperture of f/2.8 with a 17mm focal length and f/5.0 with a 70mm focal length. That's why it lets you capture clear images and focuses well even in poor lighting conditions. Its minimum focus length of 22cm and maximum aspect ratio of 1:2.8 determines the use of a lens for all types of photos.
The quiet and fast autofocus is provided by an HSM engine that works on the principle of ultrasonic waves. If you want to get maximum control over the captured scene, you can easily switch the autofocus to manual. Additionally, the lens includes advanced anti-reflection coating so the resulting photos have minimal incidence of colour defects and interfering reflections.
With a wide range of focus points, you can not only capture wide-angle images of nature and architecture, but also amazing detailed pictures and portraits. The lens is equipped with an effective optical image stabiliser to help you capture perfectly sharp images without a tripod even in dim lighting conditions.
