A top-of-the range telephoto lens for users who require uncompromising picture quality combined with high luminosity. It was designed for full-frame cameras, but can work with APS-C models as well. Its variable focal length makes this model really versatile, and although it is classified as a sports lens, it is entirely suitable for nature photography, cars, wildlife, and similar uses. It is equipped with a hypersonic motor (HSM) for quiet and accurate autofocus and an optical image stabiliser (OS), which compensates for camera shake when shooting by hand.
The design uses two FLD glass elements, whose optical performance is comparable to fluorite except it is also lighter, plus a CLD element for reducing chromatic aberration. The Sport series lenses also offer a high degree of customisation through the Sigma USB dock (sold separately) and are resistant against dust and splashing water.
In the case of any problems with focus (front/back focus), it is necessary to adjust the lens via the Sigma dock station.
