This extremely wide-angle professional EX lens, produced by the well-known Japanese company Sigma, has been designed as a full-form fisheye. This means that the resulting image, unlike with the circular type, covers the whole area of the picture. The fisheye lens's typical distortion can be used to photograph landscapes, detailed close-up shots and many other subjects. It is provided with a Super Multi Layer (SML) anti-reflective coating that minimizes the light reflected from the sensor. The lens also boasts excellent contour sharpness and contrast.
For autofocus, it uses an ultrasonic micromotor, typical for its high speed and accuracy, but also its extremely quiet operation. This lens is designed for a wide range of digital SLR cameras with a compatible bayonet. The lens has a fixed focal length of 15mm and a f/2.8 aperture. A sun shade is included in the package, and is used to minimize light reflections.
