The Scythe Big Shuriken 2 processor cooler offers an additional heatpipe and a number of additional cooling fins compared to the first generation model. These upgrades, combined with the Slip Stream 120 fan, have made a significant improvement in cooling efficiency. With a height of 58mm, the Big Shuriken 2 is perfectly suited for installation in a desktop, HTPC or similar space-limited enclosure.
The downward facing fan not only takes care of cooling the processor, but also all the surrounding peripherals, such as chipsets and surrounding MOS-FET transistors in voltage regulators. The advantage of this model is also an advanced mounting system, which significantly simplifies and speeds up installation on most currently used processors, including Intel socket LGA 2011.
