The soundbar can be either active or passive. Active systems have their own amplifier, so you don't have to worry about anything. On the other hand, passive speakers need an external amplifier to function, from which the sound is directed to the individual speakers.Number of channels
The number of channels a soundbar has is undoubtedly a key parameter in the quest for quality listening. This property refers to the number of independent audio signals that can be reproduced simultaneously. An example would be two-channel stereo sound, where each channel represents one ear.
