According to the description, I thought there was a first batch of gasoline in the package, but there is only a mini-container for easy filling (half a star down for that). I bought it as a Christmas present, and we didn't get a chance to try it right under the tree, so I don't have personal experience. I opted for electric heaters instead, which are probably more practical in that they can be switched off, but this one is lighter, and doesn't need an outlet to recharge, so for multi-day hikes I'd say better.
