I was looking for a survival kit for my kids for Scouts. This kit is a good price and contains almost everything you need. We just added a few bits and bobs and swapped the solid fuel (it really stinks) for birch bark and the snap-off blade for a 'fish' pocket knife. The big advantage is that you don't have to hunt for all the necessary items for a survival kit and you have (almost) everything complete.
