I originally wanted to buy a party speaker, but I found out that there is no party speaker that can do ChromeCast or airplay. Fortunately the speaker was purchased for the main purpose of the pergola when there is some of that family barbecue or wine cellar. He plays it richly loud. Maybe eventually I'll get the party speaker anyway and just leave this in the chute, but they'd have to be able to do at least the ChromeCast first. But I understand that a party speaker is made for someone to bring it to the park and win and there is no wifi. I don't plan to carry it anywhere outside the house though, and there is minimal wifi everywhere, although the RJ45 option made me very happy.
Features such as Spotify/ NAS playback and internet radio got me excited. Especially the ability to bring the speaker to my desk, plug it into a wall outlet, and use the touch button to turn it on and select a preset without pulling out my phone. If it still had a display, it would have been a total blast. The sound is absolutely great for what a little kitten she is. Even the visitors who came noticed right away that something nice was playing and then when they saw MusicCast20 they didn't believe it. I was still hesitating whether to get the MusicCast 20 or 50, but in the end the price of the 50 was totally out of line and I thought I'd rather buy the 2x20 which I'll probably do for the stereo sound.
I couldn't find anywhere what IP coverage it has. For now it's new so I always bring it home, but eventually I'd like to keep it drilled into the walls in the pergola under the roof.
