I'll keep the device, but it just won't be able to run non-stop on a low setting like I wanted in the bedroom. I'll have to run it occasionally on full power because of the whistling sound.

The intensity can only be changed in the app; the device is missing a slider.
The fan bearings make a high-frequency whistling sound, which makes the low speed setting useless, because it's not quiet anyway and that high frequency is even more intrusive and horrible than when it's humming at higher speeds. They should have just used better quality bearings and the very low speeds would have been practically silent. I can only drown out the whistling when the fan is at 3/4 power.
The tower wobbles/shakes a bit, probably due to the poor-quality and unbalanced fan.
