The item was purchased to go with an old LCD TV, where I didn't want to unnecessarily invest large sums for occasional viewing in the kitchen. more like a backdrop. I read in the reviews that it is a slow device, which I figured wouldn't bother me - I'll turn on the TV and nothing more and if the device loads in maybe a minute, that won't bother me.
When I first started it up and set it up, everything worked. it worked somehow, however, after about half a year the device is unbearably slow. If it took a minute to load, that would be good. It's so slow (new batteries in the remote) that when I press the down arrow on the remote to get to a lower channel selection, for example, nothing happens. I press it a second time and the cursor doesn't move one or two positions, but the device cuts and scrolls down until it hits the end.
If you want to rage and waste money unnecessarily, buy this device. but if you even want to watch TV comfortably, avoid this one! I give two stars for the first 3 months of smooth (albeit slow) operation.
