After more than five years, I finally decided to replace the unbeatable Huawei Mate 20 (also with LEICA camera, by the way) and I have to say that I have no regrets so far. I have a young child and another on the way and I wanted to keep the memories as true as possible. That's why I was looking for a photomobile that would work great in every condition (light, dark, distance, speed of movement, ...). I got my Xiaomi 14 Ultra before Easter and I'm not a photographer, but I'm taking away unbeatable pictures. Even friends who wouldn't normally buy an Android admired them. Of course, it's not exactly a mobile without compromises. A great camera takes a toll on the weight of the phone and its greater depth, but that's what I went with. Fortunately it still fits in my pocket and with a little effort I can operate it with one hand, but it's definitely not as comfortable as I was used to. For those who want to keep their compact camera close at hand and are willing to forgo the slightly higher price, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is the obvious choice.

I have been waiting for this model since I have the Mi 12 Pro and since the Mi 14 Pro is not planned for the Global market, I took advantage of the installment purchase with no increase and got what I was expecting. HyperOS has minor unfinished parts for now, but it's a new OS (successor to MIUI) and a new Xiaomi model, so improvements will flow over time. Too bad about the price, but I believe the combination of LEICA photomodules, Snapdragon 8 version 3 and other proven components, along with HyperOS will keep me with this brand.

For myself I give a well-deserved 5 stars, definitely a hilarious flagship device. I also add a few points for improvement, which, if Xiaomi worked on, would get a photo mobile close to perfection.

I would appreciate "milliseconds" faster rotation of images in the gallery when tilting the phone or at least the ability to adjust the rotation speed and animations

I'm switching from another brand, so my first feelings are influenced by the fact that a lot of things are different. Some things are worse, some things are better. The phone is dominated by the camera and there is really nothing to complain about. Compared to the Samsung S24 Ultra, it takes better photos, focuses quickly and accurately, and the photos are very good even in poor conditions. The phone is brisk. Regarding the mentioned heating - yes, it heats up, but every phone heats up, especially when you plug it into the included 90W adapter and start installing apps and restoring data. To be fair, the lens stabilisation rattle is really quite distinctive and you can hear it even when you lift the phone off the table.
I really like the design, unfortunately it is quite impractical. The good thing is that the phone does not wobble on the table and the protruding photomodule serves as a stand, but that's where its practicality ends. Maybe I just have to get used to the fact that there are flashes at the bottom and I don't mind touching them there, but otherwise I either hold the phone under the module and then the center of gravity is quite high or over the module, and that's not good for me as a photographer. The phone is terribly difficult to operate with one hand due to the shifted centre of gravity. I appreciate the included adapter, packaging and adhesive film, the more expensive competitors have been throwing poop for some time. On the other hand, I don't appreciate that you can't get better packaging. Xiaomi 14 Ultra is supposedly a rarity, I was told in one store, people are not used to buying Xiaomi at this price level. so hopefully it'll get better,
The last complaint is that you can't use another brand's watch for the Smart Unlock feature, where the phone stays unlocked when you're near it.
Now for the positives: it takes great pictures, really great. She looks beautiful. He's a great photographer. He's fast. He's a great photographer. Stability without reservations, everything works. If you don't like an app, there's Android, there are thousands of them on Play. And did I mention it takes great pictures? )

The phone pleasantly surprised me with its processing. The system is fast, smooth. Despite the large photomodule, the phone does not hold badly, especially if you get a case that eliminates the different thickness a little. I had the opportunity to compare the quality of photos with Honor magic 6 pro and Iphone 15 pro Max and I have to say that not in all scenes it is better.

Someone writes that the balance is worse because of the large photomodule. It's not like that. the balance is excellent. But the feeling is due to the fact that the size of the photomodule forces you to hold the phone only by the bottom part.
It only saves regular photos in HEIC format. if you select night mode, portrait etc it automatically saves photos to jpg format even if you have HEIC set
