I'm rarely completely satisfied with a phone and appreciate the ones that really make me happy all the more. I used to praise Honor a lot (10 I think) and then I grumbled at first, but eventually I grew quite fond of the next in line - Samsung S10. Except for the pictures. It's been 2 years and I decided to get a Samsung S20FE for the sake of better photos and fingerprint readers. And here again I was quite disappointed. After a couple of months the phone terribly slow etc. I won't name everything. Now circumstances forced me to buy a new mobile and so I searched and according to the reviews it seemed that Xiaomi 12X is the obvious choice. But I don't know. who does these reviews that can say that the quality of the photos is good, if not excellent! Xiaomi doesn't know what to do with the colors, one time it's oversaturated, another time it's faded, HDR I don't know what it's there for and as for the zoom (like Samsung has), it's a complete disaster. And then there are the little details that I miss a lot and that I've gotten used to with other phones:
- after quickly unlocking the camera, I take a photo and then I want to send the photo from the gallery, but oh my, it doesn't work. I have to unlock the phone, get into the gallery and send the photo
- when I want to send a photo, it doesn't offer me the last sharing I used - meaning a specific person - so I have to open Whatsapp and search for them again
- In the evening, at about 8pm, my always on display disappears and I have to tap the screen every time to see messages and the clock. This function is disabled and I have AOD on and set to "Always". I've been looking for a place to change it, but I haven't found
- Auto brightness in all possible settings doesn't do what it's supposed to. In direct sunlight it is dark and I have to set it out in the sun. It lights up for a while and then when I start taking pictures again, it goes back to dark. I have the brightness set to auto.
- Plus, I don't like the ugly and outdated design of Google screens and icons (although some of them can be changed). Simply in this, both Honor and Samsung have enough on top. These are such small things but in the end it forms a kind of whole and the first impression (from the first) Xiaomi is not very good. It's possible that some of this can be changed, but I haven't found it.
