The description "durable PVC construction" is misleading, but unfortunately the bristles are wound on a metal wire, which can be exposed during use. Thus, the entire washing half of the brush is metal. I don't think it will be a big problem to scratch the wheel disc heavily during washing. It can be used, the question is whether one is careful enough not to touch the wheel paint with a metal core with bristles.
