The WD Red Plus 10TB is a noisy drive that vibrated the entire shelf under the NAS even when it was just spinning and not reading. After 2 months it started to get significantly hotter and then left for good, which was a deep disappointment, especially when one finally settles in the NAS drive, configures everything and copies 8TB of data. Maybe a defective piece, but it planted a seed of doubt in me about the WD brand. However, after a hassle-free reclamation, I purchased a WD Red Pro 14TB, which seems more reliable. We'll see.

On my first purchase, both drives arrived completely dead, with signs of drive head damage, probably due to shipping. Alza has finally learned to put drives in boxes, but they still don't use enough padding. The slightest bump in the delivery van and the heads bend, and the drive won't read. However, the claim process for both drives was very quick, and we had replacements the very next day. Unfortunately, after a claim, ALZA sends refurbished drives, so instead of two new ones in their original packaging, we have one refurbished drive and the second one from 2025. Then again, I can't say I've noticed any issues; the drives are working as they should so far.
