Decent capacity at a low price. It's probably more suited for occasional data entry and disconnection. In case of USB electronics failure, the drive is directly to be thrown away, inside it does not use SATA, but hardwired to its own USB controller. Unfortunately, it doesn't communicate with the computer completely openly, so it's difficult to set up for advanced use as a 24/7 backup (hdparm and sdparm on Linux return cryptic errors, the drive wakes up frequently after manual hibernation, can't figure out how head parking works). Powered even without data transfer, it gets quite hot.
