This is absolutely reliable media, I' m shocked at how good the technology is compared to DVD! I' ve bought them several times and never failed! I would probably just avoid the double-layer ones, it was a problem with DVD, it just didn' t work reliably and according to what I read about blu-ray, it' s the same here. But the classic single-layer blu-ray has 25GB and the mechanical resistance is incomparably better than DVD, these blu-rays cannot be broken, you just bend them with DVD Verbatim, when you try to bend it, the DVD literally explodes.
I had quite a bad experience with DVDs, so I hated optical media for quite a long time, I wanted to test blu-ray just for fun and it works like a charm, the reading speed is high, the latency is good, it doesn' t bother me at all that the disc freezes for a minute and you can' t do anything like it happens with DVD, it' s a really good technology and I can recommend it even for backups, you don' t even have to buy those expensive M-Discs, an ordinary blu-ray disc is quite reliable, but we' ll see in a few years and especially if it will read Rome.
