Purchased together with the Anker SOLIX C300X. This ‘power bank’, when connected to the fridge, acts as a solar power station. This means that the fridge is capable of cooling its contents to around 4°C whilst consuming 31W, and Anker provides an additional 39W from solar power (see photo). Overnight, the fridge was powered by the car (set to 7°C). So, over the long weekend, the team certainly lived up to expectations.
As I’ve already mentioned, the fridge has quite a few pros and cons, which is also a drawback in itself, as it does take up a significant portion of the boot space (in an estate car). There are just the two of us, so that’s not really an issue… The problem is that if you fill the fridge and pre-cool it at home (230 V) and then carry it, fully loaded, into the car, you definitely need a second pair of hands. That, of course, is not the manufacturer’s problem.
Summary: I am satisfied and the product has met my expectations. At home, I use it as a second freezer to store ice cubes and ready-made pizzas at a temperature of -6°C.
