That was a good one. The N150 CPU is the bottleneck in the whole system, however the 12GB of RAM, the Pro edition of Win11 and the price of the device bring a lot of tolerance. Even my VMs with Win7 are running quite briskly on it.: )
Price negates virtually all shortcomings
Win11, however, thanks to the manufacturer's choice of the Pro edition, this microsoft tool of doom can be pretty well forced into obedience.
I already have the third piece (the first one stolen, the second one advertised for a non-functioning space bar - exchange for a complete new device) and for the price I am completely satisfied even after about half a year of use. You won't find a similar tablet/notebook for that price in the Czech Republic, I use it for work with a second monitor connected and it handles reasonably demanding applications without a problem. But the price is reflected in the quality of workmanship and I'm a little worried about future manufacturer support/service options - replacement batteries, replacement SSD for a larger one, etc. are probably going to be complicated with such a cheap device.
Price-performance ratio
Decent display
Connect up to two external screens (HDMI and USB-C)
Surprisingly sufficient performance even for reasonably demanding work, as the processor incl. integrated graphics, and 12GB of RAM.
Unbreakable - as with any PC or NB it is nice to clean the cooling from time to time, here you can max. to blow in from the outside.
With a question mark - the specification says "standard" M.2 SATA 2280 SSD, but due to the fact that you can't simply open the tablet, it can't be replaced/upgraded.
No option to limit max. battery charging - when you can no longer open the tablet and I assume that even a spare battery will not be available, it would be nice to be able to reduce the max charge and extend the battery life.
Lower quality processing, the tablet is not solid enough, it creaks a little, but at that price for my use I have no problem with it, some might mind.
A surprisingly good purchase! I had very low expectations for this device. It has to be said. Fortunately the little machine works great and performs better than I had expected.
Many older and some newer games work and even run fine.
The keyboard is a little weird and the touch pad is a bit too sticky and hard to use smoothly. The stand does not work as screen cover and if you take the device with you without the keyboard, you have no screen protection. The magnets in the device only works with the back cover/stand on the bag. This is my only real complaint about the device so far. Well worth the money indeed!
Well worth the money!
More powerful than expected.
surprisingly good screen.
Battery time is decent
Probably the best value such item you could possibly buy.
I want to add more positives to outweigh the negatives but there's really nothing to add. It just works. Great.
Lets you install the spy software windows 11 that comes with the machine with a local account. This is 10/10
No bloatware. (except windows installs random crap)
Neutral appearance.
Awesome portable media centre when travelling. 1000kc and i have enough accessories to hook it up to any hotel tv.
badly designed cover that can not be used as screen protector as the magnets repulses it if you try to put it in front of the screen.
The keyboard being the screen protector is a bad idea and the keyboard falls off if you lift the complete unit by the tablet part.
can't find screen protector film or glass.
hard to find accessories that fit it perfectly. covers etc.
I wish it had an SD card slot
build feels flimsier than it is as the unit creaks slightly out of the box. this goes away once the parts settle.
You don't want to drop it
Would have liked to buy accessories such as a stand that can also protect the screen when folded.
The keyboard when used as a screen cover when carrying it comes off too easily.
I waited with the review because I immediately after buying the tablet twice complained - the system kept randomly crashing and was basically unusable, according to the reviews it was clear that I was just unlucky on the piece, no one complained about anything like that. Finally, after replacing the motherboard (first the disk), it runs like clockwork. For someone who is looking for a compact solution for common applications and at the same time needs Win (like me), this is an excellent solution. Ignoring Lenovo with an inferior processor, similar devices start at three to four times the price of Umax. Although with a different level of processing and guts, the price/performance ratio here is very good for me - unless you are unlucky on a piece: ) and you don't need high power.
