He's too fast. It needs to be used twice to warm it up properly. Then it shows the correct temperature. The thermometer switch doesn't turn on like the others, it has to be tapped a lot.

The thermometer should be held until the second switching on, i.e. a few minutes. The first one (after 5 seconds) gives a completely unreliable value, at least when measuring under the armpit.

Finally a thermometer that measures accurately and quickly. Even if it is not 5 seconds, but rather 10 seconds (the manufacturer itself states '5-10 seconds'). So at the beginning it measured a bit off, but then it settled down.

It is possible to turn the beeping on and off somehow but it is not in the instructions. Sometimes the measurement is not accurate (difference against mercury is half a degree) or what takes a long time and it does not warn that it is over.
