I'll be honest, the world of RC models was a complete mystery to me until recently. Then my son (5 years old) saw a friend's big, "cheap" RC model, which I bought somewhat blindly. This led to a whole host of problems that needed fixing, and we gradually worked our way to the conclusion that the only long-term solution is to get something decent. I was very familiar with the Traxxas brand from YouTube channels and I was also starting to get my head around RC models and batteries. The time came to choose something new and more durable. After endless deliberation and physically comparing both models, I eventually rejected the E-Revo VXL RTR I'd originally chosen and went for this beauty instead – and I have no regrets. My only regret is that we wasted time and money on a cheap Chinese model instead of going for a proper solution straight away. The Mini Maxx is, in a word, brilliant. It's captivating for both kids and parents. In training mode, it's a playful "lamb" that's beautifully controllable but still offers amazing performance for driving on almost any terrain. If you switch to 100% power, the real show begins, which will test your skills and offer possibilities that cheaper, less powerful models simply can't ever manage. A max speed of around 45 km/h at full power is, I think, more than enough for a beginner RC driver. What's more, for a model of this size, it's a speed that's approaching the limit of usability in light terrain, but at the same time, it's a speed that's perfectly sufficient for all sorts of possible and impossible jumps. There are loads of videos on YT with this model, and not all of them praise it, but there's no need to worry. Some of the tests are unnecessarily "drastic" and during normal use, the car is simply indestructible. We've had quite a few crashes already and even tried jumps on a BMX track, which involved some really hard landings, and apart from some scratches, there's been no major damage. I originally considered a slow crawler model for my son for technical driving, but now I know that would have been a mistake and we both just enjoy this more. I'm so taken with the model that I'm considering asking Santa to bring another one for Dad, but we'll see. In any case, if you buy one, be prepared to also purchase a charger from the EZ-Peak range (from 1400 CZK), because the included charger is only really good for the first few charges. The only negative I see is the lack of an intermediate step between training mode and full power, because the difference is quite vast. When a child gets "bored" with the limited power, 100% can simply be a bit too much. However, only models with the smarter TQi controller offer this, where you can connect the model to a phone via a separately purchased BT module and use an app for further adjustments. In this respect, the Mini Maxx is more of a basic model, which has its disadvantages but also its advantages.

It's incredible what it can take. We are already jumping with it, we have been driving it for 2 weeks and it still works like new.
