so far everything works as it should

I haven't tried the drop test and I'm not going to try it anytime soon
shorter (approx. 40cm), but for normal use "once a month I back up something" cable is sufficient. If you like to walk around the house or outdoors with your external hard drive, you are unfortunately out of luck and need to buy a longer one (USB-A to Micro USB-B 3.0)
you have the Transcend Elite app setup on the disk, you are more likely to get an older version, so I recommend downloading it directly from the web according to the instructions
