Fixed video compression settings absolutely kill the camera. No point in paying extra for 2K. The sound has terrible compression, too. Yes, you'll see a house or a car with it, but nothing more.

If you're at least somewhat capable of working with apps on your phone, you can set up wifi on connected devices and create a new account in the app, it's a matter of moments. The basic settings are fully sufficient, and there are lots of other options in the app for how you want to monitor the area, including notification settings. I was pleasantly surprised by the evening infrared footage too. In terms of price/performance ratio, it is a very good choice. Don't forget to buy a MicroSD card suitable for 2K video recording.
