I wanted to use it in such a way that I would have 5 GHz as reception from the WiFi router and I would send the amplification normally over 2.4 GHz. Which should be with minimal or no loss at all. But my friend had Wi-Fi that can only do 2.4 GHz, and his phone and laptop can also only do 2.4 GHz, so even the reverse method (2.4 to 5GHz) wouldn't help. So I had to configure it as a classic extender, i.e. receiving and transmitting on the same frequency 2.4 GHz. I was worried that there would be a loss of about 50%, but it didn't happen, either it's a very smart device or I don't know, but its internet speed didn't drop. So even if he doesn't have 5 GHz at home, it was worth buying the more expensive Dual Band extender.
