After much hesitation – and because the router on one floor obviously didn’t have a strong enough signal on the floor above – I spent a long time trying to sort it out with a repeater, until I eventually got fed up with it.
The base unit is right next to the router; the signal travels through a reinforced concrete ceiling, about 40 cm up to the floor above, and it works a treat.
I’d recommend optimising the network settings in the app from time to time; it works separately for both 2.4 and 5 GHz, and, most importantly, experiment with the positioning and orientation of both units – this has a significant impact on signal quality.
A brilliant piece of kit – I’d definitely recommend it!
