I've had the plates less than a year and they look like I've had them for 10 years. I also have another set of plates and they still look like new 10 years later. With this product my plates are battered and I have a dirty or moldy ring on the bottom since the plates are undercoated, I can't put anything down. I have the cups and saucers from the same manufacturer and the cups are great and the saucers exactly the same. Bruised and dirty underneath. This is the first time this has ever happened to me with some plates. Others look like new. So I'd say it's poor workmanship and poor product quality. I am disappointed with this product and need to buy new plates of better quality. What's a positive with these plates is the really deep soup plates and the nice color. That's all.
