XXL version: The manufacturer states that the plate can be left to freeze in any position. So I tried it the first time. The plateau froze in such a way that the lid broke into two pieces when opened. Another disadvantage is that the cubes are not easy to remove. I bought a Tefal instead and am satisfied.
