I don't know what the series of bad reviews means, however, ours bought about a month ago works absolutely without problems, the temperature keeps as it is set (measured with a non-contact thermometer), the oil is heated evenly, frying and other things work normally. The big advantage is that the interior can be removed and easily washed. We are extremely satisfied with the fryer.

Improperly set thermostat as mentioned in other reviews with a lot of hysteresis. Causes large temperature fluctuations especially when using small amounts of oil. Must be corrected manually by adjusting the thermostat.
The heating element does not heat the entire surface. The temperature is lower in the back of the vessel.
