A simple device.
We also used to have a Tefal with a sophisticated oil drain and filtration system, which was fine as long as it worked. Then our oil leaked a few times (a real treat 2 litres of fryer oil around the kitchen) and so went to waste.
This type is simple, so there is no danger of that happening.
The "oil filter" has such big lugs that everything falls through it anyway, so it's basically useless.
